pretty small bulkhead, but good for smaller systems featured

Comments A 3/4" bulkhead isnt going to provide you with a great output flow, but it should allow good consistent operation for years to come. This double threaded bulkhead is nice and should be very easy to install. I've used these for years and they're common on reef-ready tanks that come with plumbing hardware. They're easy to find and don't cost a lot of money.

Liked about it These are cheap and readily available, and honestly there's not a better solution for installing plumbing through a tank. They don't require any special tools to install, and honestly if you need a tool to tighten them you're probably over-doing it. They should provide years of service without much (if any) maintenance. It's also small enough that you won't require a sturdier bulkhead; this one should not be an issue.

Didn't like The one thing I don't like about this particular bulkhead is that it has a threaded fitting on both sides. For the standpipe, I much prefer a slip fitting. Since these are usually submerged, it makes installing the standpipe a lot easier, as it doesnt require to be leak free. But, if you're using these for another solution (such as closed loop), you'll probably want the threads.

Perfect for a small return.

Comments Personally I like drilled tank and turn mine into swiss cheese.
Bulkheads look so much better that PVC up and over the top of the tank.

I use the 3/4" as a return line bulkhead on my smaller tank with 500gph or less return.

Simple to install be sure that all surfaces are clean and I use a little silicone grease on both sides of the gasket. This ensures a watertight seal.

I do prefer the threaded versions. This can easily be removed without cutting any of the other plumbing. Then you can also reuse the bulkhead on another application.

Liked about it Simple to install
Reusable because of the threaded interface.
Clean and attractive on the inside of the aquarium. The threaded versions also make it easy to install loc line on the inside of your tank.

Didn't like There really was nothing I did not like about these bulkheads but sometimes on all bulkheads the sealing surface may have a little flash on it from molding. Make sure you remove that before installing or it may leak.
