WOW.
If your skimmer is not working up to par, put one of these down stream of your pump just before it flows into the skimmer. I use these every time I build my own skimmers and they work like a dream

Creates micro bubbles extremely well. Make sure to use plumbers tape!

Water will leak out of the air inlet if the pump shuts off and the venturi is the lowest point.
Make sure to add some tubing to the air inlet to insure that you do not drain your tank.
