Would encourage you to purchase the little pump that constantly pumps the air out or hook the air hole to the ventri port of a powerhead in your tank. Why? If your power where to ever go out and then come back on while you were not home, this would self prime the overflow and you could avoid a watery mess later. Also, be sure to hook the pump/powerhead up to the same power strip as your return pump. So they both turn off and on at the same time (if on different power strips one may turn back on and the other would not. |

I ran this overflow for nearly three years before purchasing a Reef Ready tank. It was made of nice thick acrylic, good design, quality bulkhead and gasket, and ran relatively quiet. It also has a small air hole in the top which allows air to escape and water to flow freely. Highly Recommended!!!
