Easiest Part of Installing a Sump! 
| Installation and Operation |
This product required ZERO reading of the documentation. It was as simple as tightening the bulkhead, hanging the overflow box on the back of the tank, setting the desired DT water height with the skimmer box, then priming the U-tube.
Once primed, it operated flawlessly. And the U-tube is great for power outages, or more accurately, when the power comes back on from an outage. The placement of the U-tube and design of the skimmer and overflow box keeps it primed and ready at all times.

| Performance vs. Expectations |
I was initially looking for a larger, double-output variety. But after consulting with my LFS, he assured me this would be more than adequate, and it is. Once it's set up, it doesn't need touched.

Installing a sump is no small deal, especially in an area with more-than-normal power outages. The design of this actually removes worries I may have had about the overflow not starting again on power-up if I wasn't there. One less thing to worry about, and such a small price to pay for security.

Set it and forget it.
*Black skimmer box keeps algal growth to a minimum.
*Easily adjustable skimmer box to get the water level in the DT just where it needs to be.

I initially didn't apply enough nylon tape to the bulkhead, resulting in a "drippy" connection. Ensure the drain fits snugly with the bulkhead before using.
This is not a product-specific complaint, just a general word of caution for ANY plumbing application.

great for a 55gal
| Installation and Operation |
Easy to install.Very few pieces that go together in just a few seconds. No need for instructions. operates great. If your water is pushing air into the overfloe chamber in can get sucked into the U-tube and build up, slowing the siphon down.

Performed great on a 55 gal and was more than sufficient. Easy to matcha return pump as well.
