Great product if you're into acrylic works featured

Comments I've used more weldon 4 than I care to admit. I've made 10 or so projects, from 30 gallon sumps to 120 gallon displays, and this is easily the workhorse of those projects. This solvent is readily available at plastic shops (though plastic shops are sometimes hard to find), and it's simple to use if you have the right tools. It works well at closing up seams in acrylic work.

Liked about it This is a very thin solvent that works very well in mating acrylic panels. I've used a number of different joining methods before, and this works well for all of them. Weldon 4 is easily thinner than water and will get into the smallest areas, though it's best used for acrylic projects with the pin method of joining. It's a great product that doesnt leave a mess and evaporates quickly and cleanly.

Didn't like The only complaint with weldon 4 is that it's so thin it can drip easily and potentially mar a clean piece of acrylic. If you're not careful when you use it, you may find that it has ruined or scarred your project by dripping in the middle of a display pane. But, if used properly, it's a great solvent.

A must have when working with acrylics. Great for repairs. featured

Comments Weld on 4 is another must have for me. I cannot tell you how many times this wonder adhesive has saved be from a jam.
#4 is a super thin ultra fast setting Acrylic Adhesive. When I saw ultra thin I mean it. It had about 1/2 the density of water and is best used either for joining acrylics at a tight fitting joint or adhering 2 panels as in building an acrylic tank or sump. One of the best features of #4 is how thin it is. You can actually take two pieces of acrylic that have an extremely tight fit clamp them together perfectly and apply WeldOn #4 with a applicator or syringe and it will still "wick" into the gap even if you did not even think there was a gap there. This is not the best for repairs but if it is a hairline crack I would use this over the thicker #16.

All WeldOn adhesives are super strong and in most cases the bond is actually stronger then the raw materials.
WeldOn #4 and #16 are in my fish room and I always have them handy.
Just a few things I have repaired with Weldon Adheasives are:
Calcium Reactor
Skimmer
Overflow box.

Liked about it Super thin and easily flows into cracks.
Fast setting so you do not have to clamp or hold the piece too long.
Extremely strong bond maybe even stronger then the original material.

Didn't like With it being so thin it can get a little messy and if you use too much it can run down the side of your workpeice leaving a cloudy streak. Non the less still a must have product.

If you have anything acrylic in you aquarium you have to have this. featured

Comments This is one of those things that you have to have hanging around for the day when it happens. you are cleaning your skimmer and drop a part on the floor. then How do you fix acrylic?? with Weldon 4. this is a water thin cement that quickly bonds acrylic pieces together. I built my entire sump (40 gallon with three chambers and a bubble tower for the skimmer) using this cement. I purchased a 1/4 pint and still have well over half left. best used by mating the two pieces to be cemented and then applying the #4 cement the liquid is so thin it will go into the seam of the two pieces and quickly bond them together.

If it does not seal the first time (like you did not add enough or missed a spot) after the water test dry and blow out seam to be fixed add more cement and test after it cures.

Don't forget to buy a couple of applicator tubes or at least tips.

Liked about it inexpensive, easy to use. fast to bond and cure. great for acrylic repairs and building whole projects.

Didn't like this stuff is unforgiving it will leave a make on everything including clothes and counter tops make sure its applied some place where it will not matter if it spills.

it will also leave a mark on your project if there happens to be a run down the side of a skimmer it will leave a mark on it. there are several small marks on my sump from this. (it does not affect the acrylic just the look)

Stinky use in a well ventilated area. (smells like nail polish remover X 10)
