A good dip for preventative maintenance

I've used this on a number of corals that I've received, and it can help remove pests. Still no replacement compared to quarantining new acquisitions, it's nice to have on hand for various applications. I believe it's mostly an iodine solution, but it's coral safe in small doses (as directed) and I keep it on hand.

TMPPC is easy to use and relatively inexpensive. A nice added habit for incoming corals to your system (though as already stated, best to use a QT in combination).

If not left up right, I've found the container is very prone to leak. I've stored it in a drawer, only to find half of it poured out onto papers and other items. And the iodine will certainly stain, so keep that in mind when storing it.

A must have
| Comments |
I did every SPS I get in this. It is a good prophylactic dip. It definitely kills any "bugs" or anything on the frag or colony. 1 time I had a large acro I was dipping and an Acro Crab came running out, luckily I was watching and was able to save him. Not only a preventative dip, I have used this when corals show signs of stress and it has reversed it. Its not a 100% of the time fix, but it has saved a few pieces for me.

Very economical, one bottle will last an average reefer quite a while. Easy to use, just be sure to dip in clean tank water after you use it. Although I have forgotten to do so before with no problems, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I wish they would give you a few mixing options. For example how much for a half gallon or gallon, etc. They just say add 1ml to 200ml. Which is easy enough to figure out, but it would be easy to make a mistake that could be costly.

TMPCC

This really does a number on all of the critters, good and bad, on your corals. It certainly is Iodine based, though there are supposedly other components. After some concerns about pests from others, every frag gets a good dip before entering my system.

Each pump of the bottle is a prescribed volume, so it's easy to get the appropriate dosage. It's amazing what comes swimming off of a frag, though it looks clean to the naked eye.

Yes, it's more expensive that straight iodine, but a small price to pay compared to the amount I have invested in the corals in my system. Keep them all safe(er) and with more peace of mind.

Seems to be just a regular iodine dip

Product performs as advertised. That said, I also have Lugol's iodine solution, and they seem to be the same thing.

Easily dosed and mixed for a quality coral dip.

If you can get another iodine solution/dip for cheaper, I think it will do the exact same thing that TMPCC does.
