The Coral Wonder Cure!! featured

Comments At first I was very skeptical about this product. I have tried many products that claim to do many thing for corals and none of them have performed as advertised. API's Melafix have changed my mind. I first used this product on some zoanthids that were not looking good. Low and behold five minuets into the treatment I started seeing nudi's coming off the coral. After dipping I rinsed the coral well and placed it back into the tank. the next day it was open and beautiful. A while later I have a small SPS colony begin to RTN. I quickly removed it from he tank mixed up some Melafix (slightly stronger than suggested) and dipped it for 10 minuets. P{Laces it in my sump and expected to to be gone by the next day. To my amazement. The coral was alive and doing great. I had broke off where it was RTNing (before the treatment)a month later the coral is doing great. That was the fist time in 5 years I had actually stopped RTN with a medication. I usually just fragged them till there was almost none left.

Now every coral I cut or frag Softies, LPs and LPS all get a Melafix dip and th healing time had dramatically increased.
This product should be a part of every reefers toolbox!

The measuring cup integrated into the cap is great.
Clear and concise instruction make this product that much better.

Liked about it Simple easy to follow instructions
Very effective for sick or injured corals.
Pleasant to work with although I do get a slight burning sensation if contact to skin is prolonged.
This is one products that actually does everything is says it will.

Didn't like This only thing I disliked about this products the the irritation to my skin after prolonged exposure.
Because of that that I always wear gloves while working with this product.
I think API should add some sort of warning to the label about this issue.

This product killed all my fish and inverts!!!!

Comments This was by far the worst experience I've had with the fish medications! It killed all my healthy fish and inverts on the second day of treatment! I only had one fish with a minor fin rot, but treated the whole tank since I couldn't catch him to isolate. All my other fish and inverts were perfectly fine and I've had them for years. I've used the exact dose recommended on the bottle (5ml per 10 gal). All my fish and inverts were dead on the second day! Maybe it works as a coral dip, I don't know, but it killed all my expensive pets! I cannot tell you how pissed off I am at the company!!! Please, DO NOT use the Marine melafix on your salt water fish, or if you must, isolate the sick fish in a separate tank, you could lose all you have otherwise!

Liked about it NOTHING!

Didn't like It killed $100's and $100's worth of fish and inverts I owned!

As good as advertised for open, unknown ulceration

General I have used this product in the past to treat open ulcerations of unknown origin in my fish utilizing a q-tank. This product was utilized in conjunction with Pimafix and is a "reef-safe" alternative to using copper. I would *not* recommend using this product openly in the display. There is an overall "blue" tint of the water when treating in this manner and the water has a "mentholatum" smell immediately.

After one dose and five days, the fish which were administered this medication showed visible healing and little effects of the previous wound. All fish recovered fully and have, over time, shown no ill effects of either the disease or the treatment. While this medication, to it's own admission, is not a cure-all and according to publication in well-known hobby monthly publications, is a mystery regarding it's active ingredients, it is relatively inexpensive and seems to be a safer alternative to copper. Use at your own risk however.

Liked about it The instructions were fairly forward and easy to administer. The product packaging is clean and easy to understand and not possibly be mistaken for another bottle in the home inventory by accident.

Didn't like Nothing at this time.

Not a cure all for everything, but works well on m

Comments Does the job well and is an excellent treatment for corals that are arriving from shipping. I treat all my newly fragged and arriving corals with this before adding them either to the QT or back to the tank.

Liked about it The aroma is great. Easy to use and does the job. Priced well

Didn't like Can't really think of anything that I didn't like.
