The hoses on canister filters are ribbed, and this ribbing seems to collect detritus and, if left alone, will cause nitrate spikes in your tank. The problem is, it is difficult to clean inside the hoses. This snake-like brush works very well to get into the hose.

I found it even more beneficial, however, for cleaning my skimmer. There are some hard to reach areas and a flexible, long brush is just what I needed.

The brush only costs a couple of dollars and is well worth that price.

At 40" it's plenty long enough to clean Fluval hoses for canister filters and can get deep into most other hoses as well.

Liked about it	1. Very affordable. 2. Flexible so it can get into hard to reach places. 3. 40" long (smaller sizes are available) so it is plenty long enough.
Didn't like	1. Wore out quickly compared to other brushes I've used. However, given the low price and usefulness, I don't mind and don't think you will either.
