A must have tool you won't use very often featured

Comments This product grabs stuff, that's what it does but of course nothing is as good as the human hand for doing that, so you will find yourself unable to do many things with this tool. Does that mean you shouldn't bother buying one? No! You need one...trust me. Even though there are certain things you can do better with your hand, there are times you just don't want to use your hand. This tool is great for plucking out dead fish, for pushing plants that are coming up, or for leveling out your sand. You will find many uses for it that aren't even what it's sold for.

Liked about it 1. Easy to manipulate the grabbing mechanism.
2. Slightly canted jaws allow you to see the jaws in relationship to the object you are trying to grab.

Didn't like 1. A bit long. This makes it difficult to get into certain areas and also difficult to store. Other brands have such tools with a hinge in the middle that allows it to fold in half for storage.
2. Jaws are not smooth, they have groves to provide added grabbing power, however, these same teeth can damage what you are trying to pick up, so this isn't for all objects.

Cool Little Tool To Have Around

Comments This has been a great little tool to move frags around that gets knocked over. You can reach in there, push the button on the end of it in, and grab a Turbo Snail out of the tank to move it to another if you like. It has a decent grip, but it is very limited. I purchased it because it was fairly cheap and does smaller jobs in the tank that keeps my hands out of there.

Liked about it 1) Price, 2) Move little things around, 3) Easy to use

Didn't like 1) If you don't rinse it after every use, it will start to stick on you, 2) You don't get a good "feel" for what you are grabbing. If you go to grab a Xenia (for example) you could easily put a big gash in it. 3) Mouth doesn't open up that wide which really limits what you can do with it.

Good tool for use in deep tanks

Comments This is a handy item for use in deep tanks if you're doing simple jobs, but it doesnt have a lot of dexterity. If you're hoping this will replace the need to stick your arm in the water, you'll be disappointed. For general use, moving one or two things around, it's nice to have. Especially for those things you drop in the tank on accident.

Liked about it Long, simple to use, plastic parts that don't require cleaning/maintenance. I've had mine for over 4 years now and it's just now starting to degrade (tension in the lines is starting to give out, so I sometimes have to manually open it up).

Didn't like Light weight, which doesnt help when getting blown around by powerheads. Otherwise, considering the cost, it's a good item to have on hand for simple maintenance.

A must have

Comments These were 1 of the very first things I bought for my tank 3 years ago. I can't even imagine not having them. I literally use them almost every day, for 1 thing or another. They have a pretty good grip when you grab things. They are great for picking up snails or getting anything you drop off the bottom. I tried to pluck hair algae with them but that really didn't work very well. It won't grab stuff like that but small rocks or objects are no problem. And after about 3 years they still look brand new and I used them a lot.

Liked about it I am very happy with the quality of these compared to some of the other tongs on the market, they are built very well. Its also hard to find tongs that are as long as these that work good every time.

Didn't like It would have be nice it was to come with a few different type of tips you could put on.

Many Uses

Comments I hate getting my hands wet so when the time comes to reach in the tank these tongs are what I reach for. They are great for feeding preditory fish like eels and lion fish silverslides and other food. They are also great for moving frags and shifting around sand. These tongs also will allow you to get in between rocks or behind rocks where your hand cant reach. They length is also a plus.

Liked about it The length
Easy to use

Didn't like Can damage things if not careful.
