nice product for afixing small rocks or corals
| Comments |
This colored epoxy is a pretty good choice for securing rocks and making other small, low weight connections. It's relatively cheap, and the color helps it blend into the rock work when cured. This epoxy is really simple to use; just cut off a piece and knead it together until it's completely mixed, then mash it between the rocks or frags you want to secure. I've been pretty pleased with this brand of epoxy.

There are some nice features of this product, particularly the color. The generic epoxies are gray, and at times they can stand out after use (though they will cover with coralline in time). So by starting off with a nice blend reddish color, you're much less likely to notice it when you use it. Also, it's very simple to use, so there's not much thought when applying it.

Just a few complaints. First, this isnt a very large container, so you're likely to burn through it pretty quickly. Most of the time you can find epoxy in 4 ounce packages. Second, this isnt able to hold much weight before it's cured. If you're looking to stick it on larger frags or pieces of rock, you'll want to support them while this product sets. Also, I've noticed a few acros react negatively when directly exposed to this uncured product, so I'm out of the habit if securing frags with this directly. For that, I tend to use superglue on small rocks, then stick the rocks to the structure with epoxy.
