Perfect lighting for my 55 gallon
Installation and Operation
I am very happy with my 48" HO T5 Wave Point lighting system. I'm not good at putting things together but this was very easy to install. The Wave Point comes with tools for installation of the legs, so no need to purchase anything addittional. Once the legs are installed, all you need to do is plug and switch on. Maintenance for the most part is easy. I have an open tank so the salt spray can build up on the light but it is easy to clean once light is cool.

Performance vs. Expectations
I am satisfied with the this lighting system so far because it has been a big reason for my increased coraline growth. The bulbs are nice and bright which enhances the colors of the fish in the tank. I also have added some coral frags that seem to really enjoy the lighting.

Value for money
Compared to the other T5HO lighting systems, I found that Wave Point is not as expensive and meets my tanks needs because I didn't have to mount anything to the wall.

1. There is one plug for all for bulbs. Can't run 12ks and actinics seperate they run simultaneously.
2. Fixture sits a tad bit low

Wave Point 216 W 48-inch HO (4x54) Lighting System
Installation and Operation
I've had my Wave Point lighting system for about three months and so far I've been quite pleased with it. I selected this model because it had no fan, and thus, would be silent. The unit appears to be well made and solidly built. The instructions were fine and made the assembly a snap. The lighting module is sealed and the light does have to be disassembled to install or change the light bulbs.
Thus far, the corals in my 55-gallon reef have adapted quite well to the new light and I'm pleased with the performance of the light in regards to coral growth. I'll update this review in a few more months and share whether or not the excellent performance is sustainable.

Liked about it
I liked the good quality construction and, so far, the effects on my aquarium. I like the fact that the unit sits above the tank because I am hopeful that the increased airspace and ventilation will help cool the tank during the summer.

There are two things that could be better. The unit sits three or four inches above the tank and that leaves a gap that the light shines through. The glaring light is annoying. I solved the problem by sitting a strip of cardboard on top of the tank to block the light, but that looks a little tacky. Yes, I could get a canopy, but I may upgrade to a 90-gallon tank and I'm planning to use the same light. If I upgrade, I will look into canopies. Also, the light only has one power plug and they all go on at once. If I upgrade to the 90, I'll add another light or two and put that on a separate plug and timer.

Good Product
Installation and Operation
Installation was a bit of a pain for me but it wasnt becuase of the light. My canopy could not fit it inside; there wasnt enough room lengthwise to fit it. I decided to improvise and I placed the lamp on top of the canopy with the flip lid removed. that worked okay for a while but it was a pain to access the top of the tank. I then came up with the idea to hang the light. I went to Home depot and bought some shelving gear and constructed a shelf above the tank. I then hung the light using the slots along the top. Now I can remove the conopy without disturbing the light.
