Holy crap I love this light! featured

Installation and Operation The mounting legs are included with the light, it can be mounted by hanging from the ceiling but the kit for that costs extra. The legs easily slide into place and then you just even them out to the sides of your tank and plug it in! It's that easy.

Performance vs. Expectations I first became acquainted with the Nova Extreme Pro line of lights when I got one for my 29 gallon BioCube. I ditched the hood and put that light on it. The results in heat and noise reduction was worth the money, the results in how much color my corals had and the health of my anemone, was outstanding. As soon as I had the opportunity to get a used 48" for my 50 gallon tank I jumped on it.

As mentioned the light is cool, so cool you can touch the metal top with your hand and it still feels cool to the touch, not warm, or just not hot enough to melt your hand, no, actually cool. This results in a much easier to manage temperature in your tank as you no longer have to worry about heat transfer from the light to the tank.

There are two switches, one for the white lights and the other for the actinic lights. This allows you to set each on a separate timer and create a dusk/dawn effect in your tank.

Value for money Lets face it, this light costs money, so much that you may look at other lights. I was able to get my 20" on sale, and my 48" used locally. If you have the money to spend on it, I still recommend this light. I think it is well worth the money I paid and I was able to watch daily as my corals gained color and health. My old lighting was good lighting, it's just this is so much brighter and cooler.

Customer Support I have not had to contact customer support but have heard from my local fish store owner that it isn't very good. I can't confirm this so at this point it's just a rumor so take it with a grain of salt.

Liked about it 1. Bright.
2. Duel switch.
3. Cool.
4. Mounting legs included.
5. Fan is very quiet.
6. Attractive, sleek, design.

Didn't like 1. Cost.

Value for money Great light for the money. had my doubts but thanks for priven me worng!!!! will buy one for my 125g setup.

Customer Support Company seems to have good support. had a ballast go out and shortened out a bulb as well. My supplier contacted the company and they sent out replacement parts right away.

Liked about it Great light output.

Super quiet fans that keep things nice and cool.

Great price.

Didn't like Kind of a bulky unit but decent design.

Power cords could stand to be a bit longer.

Don't care for the flimsy splash shield and wobbly legs.

Great Fixture

General I used this fixture on a standard 55 gallon mixed reef. I only used 2 of the 10k bulbs that came with it and 3 of the 460nm actinics with a geismann 420 actinic. On this setup I grew colorful SPS in the upper half of the tank and LPS and softies in the lower half. I also had a derasa clam in the sand that thrived.

Liked about it Not too loud. Bright enough, Good coverage.

Didn't like Technically, it doesn't have "parabolic" reflectors. They are half hexagons instead of semicircles, but it doesn't really matter. Great fixture with plenty of power for anything you have.

Great fixture!

General Highly recommended. It also has a very sleek design.

Liked about it Very good lighting fixture! I love how it doesnt produce much heat, and it still give great output! After switching around and buying a few new bulbs (there are endless possibilities, its all personal preference) I am very satisfied with this unit.

Didn't like I dont like how you are not able to choose any other bulb combinations when you first purchase it. Only 3 10k bulbs and 3 actinic bulbs are included.
