I bought this item online on the plusrite website. It was for 20$ so i thought I had nothing to lose. When i first opened it, I was dissapointed. There were obvious signs of use, so it was not a new bulb. But I didnt bother contacting the people. I had purchased a metal halide light and light fixture on craigslist that came with a PlusRite 175 20k bulb. I bought the exact one. The one that the fixture came with was flickering because the bulb was 1.5+ years old. My friend had a 175 watt 20k bulb (unknown maker) that was 3 months old and he gave that to me to use for the time being. That one never flickered, and did not have any thing wrong with it. When I plugged the new PlusRite bulb in, everything went fine until it started flickering. Im sure its not the ballast or fixture because the other bulb works perfectly, but not the plusrites.
