A great little light for a freshwater to marine nano conversion

I had a small 5.5 gallon tank I purchased at Wal-mart a long time a go that my daughter had been using to keep a couple of freshwater fish in. My daughter has always loved hermit crabs and keeps 6 tree-hermits in her room. After her two fish finally died she wanted to try a little saltwater hermit crab tank. I, of course, wanted to put a few mushrooms and zoanthus in as well! I found this light at PetCo and figured it was the perfect fit because it screws into a regular light bulb fixture.
The light was way brighter than the bulb her tank had on it and the fact that it was a 50/50 bulb gave a very attractive look to it. I was really pleased that for so little money I was able to have a brand new nano tank.
I don't know the limits of what you could keep under this light, but in my small tank keeping the two above mentioned coral types I had great success. I would feel comfortable trying some other corals as well, like Xenia, cloves, and maybe candy canes placed up a little.
To me, this is a seriously smart little invention and whoever thought of making a little 50/50 that screws into a regular light socket deserves a pat on the back. You could use this in a small tank, a frag tank, a QT, or over a refugium and be perfectly happy with the results for very little money.

1. Depending on your tank size this might actually be a bit bright for the room. Meaning the tank really glowed.

Both the 10w and 20w version are great for small salt tanks.
