Good for some applications but not many

I had a small tank with a light fixture that used this bulb. Because this was early on in my reef keeping I was satisfied with it. As I got more experience, and understood lightly better, this light no longer fit my needs. With my current fixture, that has individual bulbs, I can mix and match them to bring out the colors I want to. I like slightly more blue. With this bulb, it's 50/50 and that's what you get.
I can't verify the claim that these bulbs are "...energy-efficient lamps produce over three times the brilliance and last twice as long as standard fluorescents..." as I never compared them using a PAR meter. They seemed about the same to me just using my eye and my corals performed just as well under other lights.
I thought the cost was too high. Between the cost and the inability to choose color I sold the fixture and moved on to something else.
I always had to special order. None of my local fish stores carried this in stock.

Great bulb

I run this bulb on my refugium and it works great. I get excellent growth out of my macro algae. I have both Cheatomorhpa and Caulerpa. And they both thrive under this light.

I like the full spectrum color it provides, the width gives great coverage from a 96w power compact bulb. A standard 96w bulb wouldn't fit my dimensions.

The only thing I wish were different was the price. But its really not that expensive in my opinion.
