I've been using this bulb for about 7 months now, and I must say it's amazing. The color output and PAR output provide great quality performance. Even though it claims to be a 20kK, it's no where near as blue as other 20kK bulbs on the market. It is very easy to install and operate, and should work with almost any 250W metal halide ballast. While it's a bit more expensive than other bulbs, it won't require actinic supplementation and is of extremely high quality.

My primary like about this bulb is the color. I've had a number of different bulbs over the years, but this one stands alone in terms of color output. The crisp whiteness it provides to the tank is perfect, and most of the corals really glow as a result of this bulb. In most applications you will not need actinic supplementation unless youre using them for a sunrise/sunset configuration. I've been completely satisfied with this bulb. It has lasted me for quite a while and still has good PAR output.

The only dislike about this product is the cost. It's usually between $10-$20 more per bulb compared to it's competitors, but I'd happily pay that difference every time. I don't see myself buying a different bulb in the future.

Great on a Magnetic ballast so/so on E-Ballast

Great bulb then run on a true HQI ballast.
The bulbs has about the best color you will ever find of any halide bulb, but ony when run on a HQI ballast. This bulb was designed around the HQI ballast and although it may work on a Electronic ballast it's not a good combination. I have seen them on both and trust me if you want to run Radiums get HQI ballasts first.
Brilliant blue/purple color but not dark at all this is a very bright bulb with breat growth iven in deeper tanks.
If you have HQI ballasts try one out you won'[t be disappointed!

The price although you can find them on sale at time that are expensive bulbs!

Well... I bought three 250s... I got into a bad shipment at my lfs, so I had to take 2 bulbs back until I found the one that fired properly.
clearly ahead of every bulb on the market in my opinion

Excellent color rendition, don't need any actanics what so ever, gretaly colored corals, good growth simply amazing bulbs.

WOW!

I LOVE these bulbs. I am now running 2 of them, one over my frag tank and one over my 60 cube display. The color of the corals is off the charts, and they are still coloring up! Not as "Bright" as some of the 10k and 14k bulbs out there, but growth has went off the charts under these bulbs. Whoever says 20k is all color and no growth has never used a Radium!! My Superman Monti is growing almost a 1/4" every couple weeks since I put in this bulb!!! |
