Good value for the money. Nice bright and very blue. My corals love them. My tank is 90 gal, and I light with 2 150HQI and 2 96PC true actinic. I have tried Giessman 14K and I found them very yellow, and my corals didn't like that light. I had been using Coralife 14K which I was happy with untill I found this lamp. They also cost considerably less than Hamilton, Giessmann or Coralife.

Very nice light quality, brings out all the colors of the fish, and makes the corals fluoresce a radiant green.
My corals are growing like crazy, even the bottom dweller plate corals are open every day.
The 14K look more like 20K in terms of color, but much more light output than a coralife 20K.

Not what I NEEDED!

I was replacing a 10k and thought I would really like the 14k color based on what I was reading. Well, I did like the color but noticed an immediate reaction from the corals, it seems they didnt. Im still kinda new to reefing but assuming that it wasnt putting out enough light. My 150W is part of a fixture with x2 96W PC bulbs. I got the feeling only after a couple of days that this new 14k light just didnt have the growth potential that the 10k has. If you have a 250W or multiple 150W lights this might be sufficient.

The color was awesome! I kept the bulb and plan on figuring out a way to use it in the future. Maybe if I use something other than 50/50's on my PC bulbs it would make up for the lost light? Can't speak for much else as I orderd another 10k bulb after only using this one for a few days.

It didnt put off enough light to reach the bottom of my tank, which left my BTA and Acros very unhappy.

Great 150W lamp

Very high PAR for a 150 watt metal halide lamp. I used these on my 30 gallon reef for about 2 years and had excellent growth. I found that they last a long time too (I ran mine 14 months before changing). I used them on electronic ballasts and loved the colors that I got from this lamp.

At first I didn't like how the bulbs looked. They were way too blue. Over time and with the addition of some 10K T5 bulbs, the color is wonderful.

Great bulb
| General |
This is a great bulb. Its bluer than a 14000K more like a 20000K. It is a quality bulb and I am getting excellent growth using them. |

great bulb, very good color

Having tried a few different bulbs for my frag tank, I think I'll stick with this 14000K bulb. Great color and solid PAR output, it replaced some of the 10000K bulbs I've used in the past. This is one of the most popular 14kK bulbs, and for good reason. I'd highly recommend it for all applications, including both display use as well as for coral growth.
