I have a few of these in my 55g and i haven't noticed the predatory response against snails with these guys, it is always my blue legged hermits i find in shiny, newly acquired snail shells...they do a good job and seem to be active day and night.

Great cleanup crab
| General |
These things are great. I have 5 in my 10g nano with 12 snails. They leave my snails alone and have plenty to eat. They eat all day long and keep my rocks scraped clean of algae. Good critters. |

My Favorite
| General |
This crab is my favorite hermit crab. This would be the nimble of my hermit crabs. I find him all over the "live rock". Tons of attitude. But, he is a killer. Taking on snails much bigger in size for their shells. If you value your snails like I do, you will be constantly rescuing them from one of these guys. |
