nice little heater
Installation and Operation
The ebo jager heaters are probably one of the best on the market, if not the best, especially considering the price. For only a few dollars more than the competitors, they are considerable more robust and tend to last quite a bit longer. I've probably used each of the various wattages of these heaters over the years, and this 50W unit is nice for smaller tanks. Probably good for something around 30 gallons or less.

Performance vs. Expectations
This unit performs well. It has a good mounting mechanism that has, for me at least, held up well over time. Usually suction cup devices don't last long, but these are made of a good material and I havent had any issue with them loosing grip.

This unit is great for small tanks. The construction is solid, the unit is easy to read and operate, and it clearly indicates when the device is on. While I havent bought one of these in a few years, I have read that the latest units are completely submersible (though I've been using them for years while completely submerging them without issue). This unit has worked well for me over the last few years on a smaller tank (about 20 gallons total volume), though I do live in a warmer climate.

The one complaint I have of this unit in particular is the size. Even at 9", on a small tank (say around 10-20 gallons), they do take up a bit of room. I'd like if jager made a more compact unit, though I understand that the quality of construction on this unit does mean a larger size. Also, as is true with all heaters, I would not trust the built in thermostat. I only use heaters on external thermostats. One last thought, it's usually better to run two smaller heaters in lieu of one larger one (for mitigating the risks of having one failure cook your tank). If you have a tank under 20 gallons, you may search out a smaller heater.

Best heater!
Installation and Operation
A two year old could install it. Attach suction cups, mount to tank, and plug it in. That easy.

The mounting bracket and suction cups aren't the best. That's it!
