Failed in about a year
Installation and Operation
Product was easy to install. No issues.

Performance vs. Expectations
Not really, in that it failed about 1 year after I bought it. Symptom was that the heater element must have burned out. (Unit has power and claims to be powering the heater, but no heat produced.) This was a 300W unit in a 60 gallon salt water tank, so unit was sized correctly to the tank.

N0, because it had a short life. I would expect a properly sized (# of watts per gallon) aquarium heater to last indefinitely from a heating standpoint. My experience is that they usually last at least a decade, and I replace them when I see signs of water entry (i.e. see moisture in glass heaters), long before they actually fail to heat.

No.

I like the overall design, while it was working, although the temperature setting dial, like on most heaters, is not very accurate.

I wish it had lasted longer. As mentioned above, I expect a heater to not actually fail, but at some point to show signs that moisture has entered it at which point I replace it.

decent item
Installation and Operation
suction cups hold better than most. installation is simple. plug, dial-in temp, play...

Performance vs. Expectations
here's where the tricky part is. i bought 2 of these for my tank. they are both set at the same temp... were at least. one has a greater temp. differential than the other which means one will run longer and slightly overshoot temp before shutting off. they are built very well in the exception of the t-stat. they could have made it a tad more reliable setting vs. true temp. moreless have to play with it as 78 may really be 81 or vice versa.

good value for the money. i would more than likely upgrade them with a better temp controller as the titanium heating element itself is very stout.

works as intended with fiddling. handles abuse being its titanium. remote stat set-up is nice instead of the temp dial being in water.

temperature controll could be a little more accurate.
