| Installation and Operation |
The Visi-Therm 150 watt heater controlled the temperature of add-in water as well as tank water. It is as easy to use as set the temperature, attach the suction cut in a vertical or horizonal position, and plug in. The only caution when operating is to be sure the suction is holding and the heater stays submerged to prevent breakage.

This heater works fine although you should adjust the exact temperature setting yourself using a separate thermometer. The heater could be set for one temperature but need to be higher or lower to get the desired water emperature.

Suction cup attachment can come loose and the heater must stay submerged. (Would be nice if weighted to stay submerged if loose.) Must use separate thermometer in water to ensure heating to desired temperature. Unattractive in tank; prefer to put in sump.

Decent heater while it lasted

I bought mine primarily for my water change heater. It worked great for a good 2 years of intermittent use. Just recently I found out that it wasn't turning on, I fiddled with the thermostat and it came on; but then dropped off right away. I noticed that if I tapped it would turn on and off acting almost like it had a loose connection. From doing a bit of forum searching, this seems to be a problems will all the stealths.

Nice heater.

This is a great heater, nothing fancy but sometimes that's better. Many of the problems people have is with electronic heater controllers. But these just has a simple thermostat, which is usually very reliable.

It keeps my tank a steady temperature. It doesn't fluctuate all over the place. Plus I have checked it with a few other thermometers and it is pretty close to what the dial says. Just as close as any other heater out there.

Very easy to use, just turn the dial were you want it to be and that's it. Plus it has a decent length cord, I had some other heater once and the cord was way to short.

Other than the temperature dial, the heaters are quite sturdy and generally reliable in my experience. Just monitor the temp with a good thermometer.
i have been told that submersible heaters can potentially leak if they are installed at an angle, so keep them horizontal or straight up.
i have always had mine horizontal, so i have never come across this issue. |

it has a numbered temp dial on the top, this does not seem to be very accurate. If you set it for 80 degrees you may get 75 degrees even if the water volume of the tank is appropriate for the wattage.

Good Heater - Great Warranty

Very good, tough heater. I have 6 or 7. Most are 150W. I had 2 fail. I sent them to the distributer and within a few days I had 2 new ones. Great service.

I don't think that the actual temperature control of the heaters (or probably any heater stock) is very good. Once I went to a controller, my temp control went from a 2-4 degree range to less than 0.5 degree range. I think the internal thermostats are probably just not super high quality.
