Great frozen food featured

Comments Prime Reed cubes are great and are packed with several types of meaty food including: Marine shrimp, marine clams, squid, zoo-plankton, mussel, lobster, scallop as well as some seaweed, spinach and vitamins. I feed my fish this maybe 1-2 a week altering between this, flakes and an assortment of frozen brine, mysis and squid.

My fish love this and go for it right away. Sometimes parts of the cube are a little too big for my smaller fire-fish so I see him spitting out and chewing repeatedly.

I would also warn against dumping the whole cube in the tank, let it thaw out and then strain the contents from the liquid to keep from introducing unwanted "garbage" in the tank. Also the cubes are densely packed so I find that I only need a few pinches of thawed product to feed my 30 gallon tank.

Liked about it Top three:

Good mix of meats and veggi for the fish as well as added vitamins.

Keeps everyone in the tank happy during dinner time.

Doesn't come in a gel binding agent. Purchased this as well as Formula One, but I don't like the gel binder that is used with the Formula One cubes...

Didn't like Can't say I have any regrets with the purchase, everyone in the tank enjoys it so I think it is money well spent. Just be careful no to dump the entire cube in the tank!!

Prime Reef cube review

General I use this in my tank 1-2 times a week, I try to vary the diet. I have had good luck with the Ocean Nutrition brand and the prime reef has natural- key ingredients. I experimented with defrosting it in a cup of water and once it breaks up it is very messy and my small fish (Damsels and Clown) will eat it but only the larger chunks and the rest becomes sea snow for the crabs. My large fish don't even touch it. If you put it in your tank once it becomes mussy, it sinks quickly and will mostly go un-eaten. I seem to have the best luck when it is frozen and left floating in the tank.
I have learned to cut the cubes into 1/3 and feed them smaller portions of different types of foods rather than larger portions which will go uneaten. I like the product but there is a learning curve with it and my Tangs, Angles + puffer do not eat it and I was hopping they would. I noticed that I wrasse will eat it without any problems.

Didn't like Messy in the tank and the cube sinks quickly
