I've used this food for many years, and I personally much prefer it to the same pellet food. I like this for almost any fish's diet, and I recommend it highly. For surgeonfish or other large herbivores, this is a great staple. While I don't use it exclusively (I mix in a number of frozen and other flakes), it the main vegetable addition I use.

Nice flake size, good consistency, nice packaging. The fish really seem to love it, all my surgeonfish go right after it. I've been very pleased with this product.

It does float, so I make certain to dunk it in the water before releasing it (lest it get sucked right into the overflow). If used exclusively or in high volumes, it may contribute to elevated phosphate levels, but that's true of most flake foods.

I use this and the Ocean Nutrition Formula One along with my homemade mush. If you have tangs or any herbivore for that matter you should def think about adding this to your tanks menu. All fish love it but herbivores need it. As with all foods for your fish you need to make sure they get a variety a well balanced and high quality food. This product delivers. |
