I keep a fish at work, and of course I am not there on my days off to feed it and during the day I may not have time to do so on a regular schedule. I had to have a feeder. I purchased one that I didn't like, that's a different review, but replaced it with this Eheim. I was glad I did because this unit works so much better than the other one I tried. The problem was, I have only 1 fish, and the other was overfeeding it. The Eheim is so adjustable I actually get just 4 pellets to drop out at a time. I like the digital interface and the treat button you can push to give a little extra to your fishy friend.

1. A little large which can be difficult to place in some tanks. Works best with a covered tank of course.
2. The battery lasts plenty long, but I still hate having to change it. Having the choice of a cord would have been nice.
3. It did cost more than I wanted to pay, but since the other cheaper brands didn't work like I needed, and there was no other way to get the fish fed on weekends, I had to get it. After I got over the initial shock, I am glad I got it.

Great auto feeder... very reliable and reliable

Great product, easy to set up and use. Will accept different types of dry food (flakes, pellets, etc.). Highly recommended.

Nice size, I like that it has multiple feeding options in a 24 hour period. There is also an integrated ventilator (as they call it) to keep flake food from clumping due to high humidity (though you'll need to make sure it's drawing dry air). A great choice if you're looking for a highly reliable feeder.

The only negative thing for this item is that there's no great mounting feature. It has to sit on a 'shelf' above the tank (so a middle tank brace would work well). Even so, it's my favorite feeder (I've had 4 different brands over the years).

Eheim Feed Air Automatic Feeder

I have a closed hood which caused moisture to contaminate the food.
Once modified to accept an air line on the "inlet fan" which provides positive pressure inside the feeder to keep the food dry it worked well, I am happy to use it for up to a fortnight of holiday. |
