Pretty much anything made by Hikari makes the list of favorite things to feed my fish. The products are so fresh, that even the freeze dried krill still smells like actual shrimp.
Mysis shrimp are an important food for many of the things we keep in our tanks for fish, sea stars, corals, even anemone will devour them with relish and excitement. They have the protein, fat and fiber your livestock needs plus they are vitamin enriched to give a boost beyond what nature endowed them with. The end result is better health, vigor, and color.
I know this review is just for the Mysis, but you really should check out other Hikari products.
One note: they are more expensive than some other brands but the results are so easy to see that you will feel it is worth it.
They come in easy to use packaging that has individual portions divided. Simply push up on the portion and it pops out of the package.
Be sure to rinse the food as part of the thawing process. I usually pop my portion into a small brine shrimp net and run the water over it. The reason for this is the freezing process, and the liquid the food is frozen in, can contain phosphates and nutrients you would rather not have in your tank.

This is a regular staple for my all of my tank inhabitants

This stuff is great I love the cubed trays it makes for easy feeding and consistent food amounts. I take a cup of water from my tank and then add the Mysis Shrimp cubes to the cup let it sit for about ten minutes and the cube dissolves. the best part is there is no oily film on the water from the cube melting. I just stir it up and pour into the tank. currently all of my fish take this food with ease, the corals also eat it with out any trouble. they really like to get stop feed with it. (it looks really cool to see a mysis shrimp sticking out of the corals mouth) and my inverts take this food easily too.
The food will settle to the bottom after several minutes and the clean up crew has no problems finishing off the small amount of left overs.
This food is priced inline with the rest of the frozen cubed food on the market.
I have been feeding my fish this product for four years now and have always had strong colored fish.

dissolves with oily sheen in/on water. easy measurement of food imported into tank. very healthy for fish, corals, and inverts, the mysis shrimp are supplemented with vitamins the vitamins are just not added to the water.

Great fresh frozen food!

This product is one of the best you can get. Hikari products usually are! Fresh mysis that is a great value that I get in the cubed packaging.

2. Easy to punch cubes out of container..and in small amounts as tonot overfeed.
3. Very clean, however I still rinse it before I feed.

1. The cubes might be too small because I feel some of my more shy fish do not get enough to eat.

100% as advertised. Package says Mysis shrimp and thats exactly what you get. I like to defrost the food then rinse before adding to the tank. I typically feed 5 fish one cube per feeding.

Nothing but shrimp. I have used some other brands of Mysis and found some debris mix in at times.
Quick defrost...take out of the freezer and 5 minutes later its ready

High quality food

This is by far my favorite food for my tank. I like it so much better than other brands. There is so much more meat in them than in the other brands. Some other brands you will see your fish eat a piece of mysis then spit half of it back out because its the shell. Not with Hikari brand, they eat the whole thing, because it is mostly meat. You can even feel the difference if you put the cube in the tan and swirl it around to dissolve, it feels soft instead of like it needs to be peeled.

I really like that this Mysis are usually bigger than the other brands I have access to. And they are much more meaty than some others. My fish absolutely love it.

This product does exactly what its supposed to do! I even use some of the cube to feed my bubble and carpet anemones. All my fish love it! However, I would not recomend feeding this to tangs as they are naturaly herbavores, get alge flakes for them... Other than that I highly recomend this product!!

best shrimp ive fed my fish

throughout time ive used a lot of frozen foods for many of my tanks. i first used the hikari brand mysis shrimp from one of my friends, but when i saw my fish's reaction to it i knew i had to have it. i been using it for a while now and my fish still love it, normally fish will leave some pieces of other brands go and my shrimps will eat them later on.
