Well constructed low capacity chemical filter
| Installation and Operation |
Well this unit is not exactly 'plug and play"
There is some work involved. You will need PVC primer and glue for instillation.
The unit comes supplied with 3/4" FPT inserts that will need to be glued into the 1" slip ports on the unit. I'm not sure why they did not pre-installed them or make the unit with the threaded in/out.
Once gluing in the threaded ports you will then have 2 option for instillation.
You can either install this inline with other LifeGuard Modules using the supplied closed nipple (threaded fitting)
Or you can purchase threaded barbed hose adapters.
Since I ran this unit on it's own I had to purchase the barbed adapters.
I chose to use LifeGuard Pellet Carbon. I was somewhat un-impressed with the small amount of media that this unit can hold. The chamber is large enough to hold 2-3x more media but the media holder was quite small.
All in all this is a good unit and I will continue to use it for carbon.

| Performance vs. Expectations |
This unit performs as expected. It's a media reactor and can be filled with Carbon, GFO or any other media you choose. I felt performance would be increased if the media holder was larger and could hold more media.
|
| Value for money |
In the $50 range it a little pricey compared to other media reactors but it well constructed and the design on the lid makes changing media much easier then other reactors.

| Customer Support |
I had no need for customer support while using this product

| Liked about it |
Well Constructed.
Easy to change media
Modular and easy to add other LifeGuard products "in-line"
|
| Didn't like |
You have to glue in the supplies 3/4" fpt adapters.
Does not come with standard barbed adapters.
For the size of the unit it really does not hold much media.
