Hagen Aqua Clear 30 Hang-On-Back Power Filter
| General |
I ran this filter for a number of years on several fresh water set ups. It was a reliable filter that was easy to maintain. I still have it after about ten years and use it for a quarantine tank when I need it. it is so easy to throw the sponge in the sump of my reef tank to seed it with bacteria and then get the quarantine tank up and running. |

Simple to set up and maintain. It does a good job and the ability to add additional filter media easily is a plus.

| Didn't like |
Occasionally this filter is a little noisy after maintenance for a few days.

Aquaclear 30!
| General |
Works very good!
Can also work kind of like a refuge for pods and such!
I kept one on my 20g nano, I'm wanting to upgrade to the 50, though.
I would reccomend this to everyone!
Very quiet.
Has sponge for mechanical filtration, BioMax, which is basically like mini BioBalls, and Carbon.
They inserts are easy to change out.
It's just like pull on out, pop in the new one.
As easy as that.
I take out the whole setup once a month and clean the pump and such.
But overall, a great product! |
