This product performs great, it does a great job doing what it's suppose to do, which is to keep your water crystal clear and take out all of bad smells and other things from your tank. I ran my tank for a week without a cartridge and it turned cloudy and smelled. I ran the cartridge for 2 days and it fixed it all.

The tightly packed media catches all of the particles in your tank including algae and everything else, after a week of use these things get covered in muck, showing how much they are taking out of your tank, the activated carbon in the bag removes all cloudiness and smells from the water and it is very easy to assemble these cartridges.

The only complaint I have about this item is that it clogs up if not cleaned or replaced after 1-2 weeks to the point where water is just dripping out of the filter.
