My LFS was trying this and said it did wonders for his Nitrates. I bought it online - cheaper and more quantity. I ran it through a sandfilter reaction chamber (Rainbow Life Guard). It did attack Nitrates, but it didn't bring them down to zero. Also, the load ended up damaging my Rainbow Life Guard Sand filter. They tout that this product is different than every other biological media out there cause it has oxygen free attachment points for bacteria to reduce nitrates, but they also state on their site that if you quantity is key. I would literally need to fill a 10 gallon glass aquarium with this stuff in order for me to see good results in my 55gallon reef. Such a shame. I still have a little running in a whisper in tank filter, but just as a precautionary measure.

The product looks great and to a small degree does process nitrate.

It requires too much quantity to process nitrate sufficiently. In a canister filter, it gets clogged quickly and requires much cleaning.
