This is something that I always keep on hand. Its to expensive to run constantly, but I run it every other week in my filter tray. Or if I think something funny might be going on I will put one in. It changes several colors to detect different items. Which is really useful if you are trying to diagnose some problem you are having, but can't figure it out. It will turn blue with copper, red with iron, gren with ammonia, bron with normal organics, and black under heavy organics. I am not aware of anything else on the market that will do that.It also claims not to release anything back into the water, which is always a plus.

It changes color in the prescence of different items. It can be easily cut to any size.

Good for beginers

A bit expensive, but you can use it as a mechanical filter in addition to being a chemical filter and biological filter.

Poly filter does what it says

Quickly reduced the levels of phosphates in my system. No pollutants or anything negative appeared to be released into my tank. A safe way to lower phosphates.

It didn't last for very long, then again my tank's phosphates were really high. It reduced phosphates for 4 days then was used up.
