decent phosphate media

This is a decent phosphate media, and really the only one I have first hand experience with. About all I'll really say is be certain to follow the instructions. When you first rinse it, the product will get hot so you'll want to ensure that you've either got a very high flow rate of water (to remove the heat) or that you're doing this in a manner that you arent risking burning yourself. Also, you'll need to remove it within 2 days (at most) lest some of the phosphate return to the water column.

This stuff isnt very expensive and works well if you follow the instructions. I don't necessarily find it to be the best long-term phosphate control solution, but if you're using it for intermittent or short term help, it would be a good choice.

Nothing really too much to dislike, but you do have to understand what's going on to use it effectively. If you don't pull it out in 2 days, you're doing yourself a disservice, and it will get hot upon first contact with water. Otherwise, it works well enough.
