I was using this on my freshwater setup. Easy to tell when it's time to change these out as they look like they start to erode away. Using only this and activated carbon, my tank stayed crystal clear. Although I feel the price was a little high at first, I overcame that by how long they last.

I liked he fact it was premeasured, so that took the guesswork out of stuff. Just through it in your filter system and forget it. The product is easy to find at just about any pet store, so you don't have to drive all over town looking for someone that carries it.

The only thing I didn't like was the hole that it will clog with debris. I know this is what you want, but it's a little bit of a pain to clean. You can avoid this is by buying new constantly, but I tried to extend them as long as I could.

Can't count the bacteria

I cannot count the bacteria, but it seems to be working, I don't have any ammonias or nitrites in my tank. I have several packs, and am strongly considering purchasing several more for use in my sump. |

Comes in its own little bag. Does not get filled with gunk as I have heard some people say.
