I have used this product and alternate competitors and found no real difference in results. In my previous apartment, our city water had abnormally high phosphate levels and this product worked well in conjunction with a Phos-ban reactor to keep levels in-check. Simply replace/impliment during a water change and run your drain water through until the rust-colored dust turns clear in the exiting water column.
