These are nice little bags to have on hand for adding carbon or other media in contingency scenarios. They don't work well for fine media, nor are they proper sized for capturing wastes coming from a return somewhere, but they do hold a good amount of chemical media for use in a passive filtration mode.

These are cheap bags that work well for carbon in particular. I have a couple of these that I used to use when I dosed medication or otherwise wanted to add a bit of filter media to the tank. They're easy to clean, I often throw them in the washer with towels and other items, and they're very easy to operate. They hold up well over extensive use.

These bags are no replacement for active filtration through a reactor, though they're good enough for last minute carbon or media dosing. If you're really using something in a long term application, it's better to pass water through the media with a pump instead of just setting a bag of media in the tank somewhere.

Simple and effective

Simply to use, just fill it with carbon or similar media and place it in direct water flow. I will attach the bag to my incoming line on the sump. There are many other uses.....can be used when first cycling a new system. Place a piece of raw shrimp in the bag and drop it into the tank. After the cycle has started remove the bag and toss the shrimp.

These are great little bags to have on hand for use with various different chemical medias. I use these bags to hold activated carbon for polishing my water and removing impurities from time to time. |
