Bulk Reef Supply High Capacity Granular Ferric Oxide 1 pound (453 Gram...

We purchase our Granular Ferric Oxide (GFO) directly from the manufacturer allowing us to offer it for a fraction of the cost. This is the same material imported from Germany for the aquarium industry. - - GFO is primarily used to remove phosphates from your aquarium but will remove arsenic and heavy metals as well. By removing phosphates GFO aids in algae control and will encourage faster coral growth. - - High Capacity GFO is our premium GFO and comes with several distinct advantages over the other GFO's. HC GFO is able to remove roughly twice as much phosphate for the same volume of material. This means it will last longer and require less maintenance. The particles are extremely hard and even better then the Pelletized GFO at reducing the effects of water abrasion. HC GFO works very well in both a reactor and filter bag. If you are going to be using a filter bag with your GFO this is the preferred product.

The best GFO I have ever used featured

Comments This is by far the best GFO I have ever used. And I have used pretty much all of the major brands. I had a bad Brown Wafer Algae problem and nothing would get rid of it. Then one day I decided to try this stuff, and I couldn't believe it. After about 2 weeks the algae started to recede. And within 2 months it was practically gone. NO other GFO I used even came remotely close to accomplishing what this 1 did in a short time. And I wasn't even running the full recommended dose.

Liked about it Extremely clean, it only took 1 gallon of water through my reactor before I had clear water. With the others I used it took 3-4 gallons easy. Very economical, and the bigger the package you order the better the deal is. And the best part is how great it works.

Didn't like After seeing what this product did I can't find anything wrong at all.

Did not see a difference in the Hi Cap media.

Comments I have been using Bulk Reef's GFO pellets for some time now and thought I would try the high Capacity.
after 6 weeks in the reactor I saw no significant change from the standard capacity media. I would imagine that if your phosphates were seriously out of control the high capacity may be of some help with binding more phosphate but for me and most average users it was not worth the extra money to step up to the high capacity.
Another advantage to this media is it's size. Being larger the media does not have to tumble as much as the finer media.

Liked about it It's bulk reef supply and there products are always high quality.
Vacuum seal bags fro freshness.
Larger media does not need to tumble so much

Didn't like I saw no difference is performance from this to the standard media

Good Value GFO

Comments I have used Rowa Phos and Two Little Fishes GFO products and I am very satisfied with this product.
Cost is significantly less than others products.

Liked about it Like Rowa Phos you can see a difference in the microalgae production in 24-48 hours.
So far it seems to last about 30 days in the BRS dual reactor I am using.

Didn't like Seems to have more fines than Rowa Phos but less than Two Little fishes.
