I only recommend this if you have a sump featured

Installation and Operation This is easy to install in my opinion. The instructions weren't all that great but were enough to get it going. Operation is exactly like an I.V. drip system you see in the hospital. It even has the same type of slide to control the speed of the drip. I found this to be very inaccurate so I replaced it with a little ball valve I use in my drip acclimation kit.

Performance vs. Expectations This performed exactly how I expected it to, which was just okay. Lets face it, this isn't a fancy system, it's just a nice looking version of a do it yourself project. Personally, I would rather buy this than do it myself, because even though it sits in a cabinet I like it to look slick when people open up the door and look inside (which all aquarists do).

If you are looking for something fancy then get yourself a peristaltic dosing pump and pay a ton more money, but really, this does get the job done. It's also versatile in that it can dose whatever you want or act as a small auto top off.

Value for money I paid $12 for this. I realize that's a bit cheaper than you will usually find it for, but for that price I feel I've really gotten my money's worth. I would hesitate to pay more than $20 for it though.

Customer Support I have not had to use customer support or their web site for this product. I have for other Kent products and have always been treated well.

Liked about it 1. Simple and easy.
2. Can be used for dosing or auto top off.

Didn't like 1. Because it is gravity driven it must be above the water level. If you have a sump, this is no big deal, but if you don't that means it has to be above the tank itself. If you have a big canopy, you can put it there, but if not, then it is hard to place and looks ugly once you do.

Not really worth the money featured

Installation and Operation Believe or not, for such a simple thing, the Kent Doser was troublesome to install and set up. On the unit I got, the dripper tube fitting did not quite seat properly into the spigot on the base of the jug and it leaked kalkwasser. After struggling for a while, I solved the problem by wrapping the fitting on the dripper tube with teflon pipe tape and squeezing it into the jug fitting. The instructions were so-so. I would have appreciated a better picture of the fittings to make sure I didn't miss something that caused the leak. The unit is easy to operate and requires only cleaning after use.

Performance vs. Expectations The product performs as advertised.

Value for money The Kent Doser is not a good value for the money. I "upgraded" from a plastic milk bottle with a fitting sealed into the base with a blob of silicone bathtub calk and a dripper made from an airline tube and a junky plastic tube clamp. The drip rate from the milk bottle was not uniform and indeed, the Kent doser is easier to control and use than the milk bottle and its junky plastic clamp. I like the way the Kent dripper unit tube and clamp work and if I had to do it again, I would surf around the net and locate the dripper tube and clamp and buy only that part to attach to a milk bottle. On my original milk bottle set up, the plastic around the fitting in the bottle eventually fatigued and broke, but it didn't cost anything to replace the entire milk bottle with a new one. My guess is that you can get the dripper tube and clamp from a medical supply place somewhere on the net.

Customer Support I have not dealt with company.

Liked about it I like turn-key and this was almost turn-key. The drip rate is uniform and the doser is easy to use.

Didn't like I mostly didn't like the price and the fact that I had to mess around with the fittings to get the unit to quit leaking.

good doser

Installation and Operation No set up required. Easy to use since it is a gravity doser. Iv drip method. Remember to have it up higher than the water level of your sump. I use it to drip kalwasser. Perfect for this.

Performance vs. Expectations Preforms well except you must re-adjust drip periodically since it works through a slide adjustment. It gets pinched off and drip rate changes or stops completely.

Value for money good value pays for itself in no time. Much cheaper to drip kalkwasser than the liquid calciums.

Liked about it gravity feed and price

Didn't like it's drip control adjustment

good product

General I have been using this for years to drip my Kalk. It has definitely paid for itself. It does work on gravity so it has to be higher than your sump or whatever you are dripping into. I just put it on the shelf in a little cabinet next to my tank that has some other equipment in it. Overall its a good product in my opinion. Very inexpensive auto top off for smaller tanks. I go through about 4 gallons of evaporation a week. So if I fill it roughly twice a week and drip it slowly on my 65 gallon reef that takes care of all of my top off. Very practical and fool proof setup.

Liked about it Inexpensive, easy to use.

Didn't like Flow has to be adjusted frequently.

Not the best.

General This product does what it says. Plain and simple It is a cheap and easy dosing system. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It is a gravity doser so it works much like an IV would. It has to be hung on the wall or be suspended at least above the tank. Needless to say it was not pretty to look at. Also it has a flow control that is a sliding control. You move it up or down to create more or less flow. In a smaller tank the flow has to be very slow. It would stop dripping after a while of sitting like that. If you want a cheap product that you don't mind having hung above your tank, this is for you.

Liked about it I liked that it was a lot cheaper than most dosers.

Didn't like I didn't like that I had to hang it on the wall behind my fish tank. Also the flow control wasn't that great.

Good economical doser...

General The Kent Aquadoser is an easy, economical way to dose just about anything your tank would need. I've used one to dose Kalk water as a top off. I also have set two of them up to dose a two part cal/alk additive, they worked great in both applications.

Liked about it Economical, easy to setup.

Didn't like Can be bulky for smaller setups.
