Fox Coral

This coral is usually brownish pink or green. They have large striated ruffle polyps that spread out into flower like shapes. This coral is not aggressive and cannot sting nor be stung. Fox Coral prefers low water movement and low/medium indirect lighting. If the lighting on the coral is too strong the flesh will turn brown.

the flower of the aquariums

Comments ive had my fox coral for a while now and i have to say that it is way up in my favorite list, the coral is just awesome. the fox coral has a pinkish color that resembles a flower it can also grow relatively big and cover a long extend of live rock. caring for this coral is rather easy, it will stand slight changes in water parameters that some other corals will not, although i would consider it a "hardy" coral, it can be picky and spoiled when it comes to flow (it does better under low flow).
i would summarize by saying that it is beautiful and relatively easily to care but its skeleton is brittle and can be damaged by rough handling and it doesnt like much water flow.

Liked about it -color
-growth
-hardy

Didn't like -picky regarding placement
-it might not do so well under some lighting conditions

My favorite!

Comments Fox coral is pretty easy to care for. It is not aggressive and cannot be hurt by other stinging corals. It is absolutely beautiful, looking like a bouquet of flowers in your tank. The coral doesn't like direct lighting so I have an overhang above it. The coral filter feeds, which makes for very easy care. I add invert nutrients weekly to the water. The fox coral is also very easy to frag. So long as the flesh is retracted ( like an anemone pulling in its tentacles ) the skeleton is very fragile and you can cut through it easily. This wasn't the easiest of corals to find in my area, but was cheaply priced. I bought a medium sized piece and it was only $30.

Liked about it This is my favorite coral in the whole tank. Mine is a cream and pink color combo and looks gorgeous. As mentioned it was pretty cheap for the size that I purchased, but was harder for me to find than other corals. My coral is thriving from filter feeding (it does not have tentacles) and the nutrients added to the water weekly, so very easy to care for.
