great centerpiece coral

Comments the elegance coral is one of the biggest and most colorful corals i have ever seen in my years of experience, in some tanks this coral in all its glory can be the only thing that you'll want to look at. the coral is relatively easy to keep as long as water parameters are were they are supposed to be, and for the time ive had it i never really had any trouble feeding it, this coral also requires a medium to high level of light and low to medium current, and occasional feedings of small pieces of shrimp, brine and mysis shrimp can help this coral grow and prosper in any sized reef aquarium. So if you thinking about purchasing one of these corals for your reef, go ahead and enjoy this wonderful coral!

Liked about it -color
-size it can grow to
-easy to care

Didn't like -even though it grows as big as they come, it takes a while
-new specimens sold are not as hardy
-sensitive to parameters

Beautiful

Comments I love the look of the elegance coral. It looks like an anemone, but you don't have to worries of roaming or other problems. This coral prefers the bottom of the tank and should be kept away from other aggressive corals as they do have sweeper tentacles that could get stung. Mine prefers a light/moderate water flow. I find it almost easy to take care of. If in an established tank they will thrive. A filter feeder that is large and comes in beautiful colors.

Liked about it easy care, appearence, no worries about it moving around...if you like anemones you will love this coral. Not as expensive as some other of the very colorful corals. You can purchase a decent sized elegance for a fair price.

Didn't like Mine is a little touchy with my turbo snails. If one gets to close while in route to a rock in will close itself up.

A great addition to a reef, though more challenging that most LPS

Comments Elegance coral is a beautiful addition to most any reef, though it's not without it's challenges. Those that come from areas outside of Australia fare very poorly in captivity, so be certain to know the origin of the piece you select. They do well with supplemental feeding once or so a week, and moderate light with low flow should suit the coral well.

Liked about it Beautiful coral, can become a showpiece for even very large aquariums.

Didn't like Can be delicate to ship and acclimate in captivity, make sure it comes from Australia.

A nice addition to the reef tank

Comments The Aussie Elegance coral is a nice addition to a reef tank. I find the care for the coral to be moderate. Be sure to place in a low to medium flow area, at the bottom of the tank. I would recommend placeing coral on a pvc pipe cut out for a couple of reasons. One, to make it easier to move the coral if needed and two to keep it elevated fromt he substrate where hight PO4 concentration can be a problem fr the coral.

Liked about it 1. Very nice coloration.
2. Anemone look without the roaming around the tank.
3. Easy to feed, will accept just about anything you normally feed to the tank.

Didn't like 1. You can't be 100% sure that you are getting an Aussie Elegance vs. one from east asia. The Aussie is much better at acclimation to a reef tank lighting.
