I just got a used one and the chiller seems to be doing well on my tank. I have it setup with an Aquacontroller 3 andit keeps my tank within 0.5 degrees of setpoint. My tank is 125g with a sump of about 30.

I personally always get a little nervous when plumbing water lines outside of my tank. I bought reinforced hose and think the chance of a major failure is very small. This is true of most external chillers...

This thing rocks! I have it on a system that has grown to 240 gallons total volume with 4 external pumps, 2 submersible pumps and 2 x 250 MH. It get to over 115 degrees every summer where I live and even hotter in the garage where all my equipment and sumps are. This chiller has helped keep my water to no warmer than 82 degrees. On very hot days I do use fans on the sump for evaporative cooling but hey, this is a small chiller and it cranks! WELL worth the money! |
