You just plug it in set the temperature you want then it does the rest for you, Just cleaning the vents in the front with a brush every 6 months or so i would say. Performance vs. Expectations Performance was great it does what they said it would Chill your aquarium Value for money Its a little expensive but well worth every penny. JBJ is a great company that stands behind all of their products. Customer Support Never had a problem with mine so i never had to call Liked about it Chills the water super fast and it only comes on about once an hour for like 5 mins. So its not constantly cycling on and off. If you set it at 78 Degrees when it hits 79 it turns on then when it hits 77 it turns off. So it has a 2 degree swing which is perfect Didn't like Its sort of loud sounds like a refrigerator turning on. But mines out in the open if its in a stand it would be alot less loud. It does take a nice bit of electricity to run it...I kept blowing my breaker so i had to plug it in on a different part of the house. Minimal maintenance, just keep vents clean check water pump. Performance vs. Expectations Performs as expected Value for money I purchased mine 3 years ago so price was much lower. Overall I think I am getting good value. Customer Support I have not needed to so far. Liked about it Ease of operation and maintenance. Didn't like Cost of electricity to run unit.
