Great Ca Reator!

Installation and Operation Easy, took a little time to understand how everything worked and hooked up but after that, clear sailing. I wish that the bubble counter was detachable as it would make replacemet easier. These often get broken by the owner.

Performance vs. Expectations Performs well. My expectations were a bit higher though. Really starts to shine if you feed the reactor instead of letting it siphon feed water.

Value for money A little on the higher side, but you do get a well built piece of equipment and a quality pump with it.

Customer Support No, but I had a hard time even finding a web address for them.

Liked about it Good reactor. I have 2 of them. One is a bit older and appears to be made totally out of PVC and the newer one is acrylic. The older PVC one is built like a tank and can take probably anything you could through at it. The newer acrylic one isn't built as heavy duty but is still nice. The cylinder wall thickness is 1/4" and the flanges are 3/8" thick. They don't use as much CO2 as other reactors. I maintain a pH of 6.4 in the reactor and after a year I am still on the same 5lb CO2 bottle. My effluent rate is about 3 drips per second, I have went through 2 fills of media with this same 5lb bottle.

Didn't like Bubble counter hard mounted. It would be better for the customer if it were detachable. No pH probe port, even if it had a plug for one that you could add a fitting to it would be better. There is a lid available separately for the reactor with a pH probe port in it, but that's another item you have to purchase.

Good reactor...

General The Korallin 1502 reactor is a nice piece of equipment that is fairly easy to set up. Maintaining a specific drip rate can be difficult if used as packaged, I've found that adding a precision needle valve to the output helps considerably. I also drilled the upper cover on mine and added a ph probe holder to allow me to utilize a ph controller, this has helped tremendously. With these few mods, this reactor is sizing up to be a very good asset in maintaining the Cal/Alk levels in my 180gal SPS reef.

Liked about it Built well, auto filling bubble counter, eheim pump.

Didn't like Had to add needle valve for better adjustment, have to purchase a new lid to get a ph probe holder.

Korallin CA Reactor

General I highly recommend this if you have a lot of SPS or just a high demand in your system. I'm very happy. EMail me with questions.

Liked about it This reactor is a great setup. I got the full package from Marine Depot and connected it all up and it works like a charm. It get's me out of 2 part dosing and keeps my Ca and Alk right on the money.

Didn't like I don't like the fact that my pH is now running about 0.1 lower (but still a consistent day/night cycle) than before but everything seem happy so i'm not going to worry about it.
