a quality reactor, but pretty expensive
| Installation and Operation |
This is a good reactor for a tank about 300 gallons if you have a mixed reef. If you have a lot of stony corals that require considerably supplementation, this unit may only be adequate for a tank up to roughly 200 gallons. It's relatively easy to install, though it does not come with a feed pump or the CO2 hardware (at the price listed, at least). It has a pretty small footprint compared to similarly sized reactors, and the hardware used is very high quality.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
The unit performs as expected, it's relatively easy to fine tune (given you add the right hardware to it). You will need to buy a pump to supply water from the tank, as well as all the CO2 hardware to dose carbon dioxide into the reactor. I'd also recommend getting a pH controller to keep the unit in check. It works well, though, and I've been pleased with the performance.

| Value for money |
Personally, unless you can find this unit under about $300, I think it's a bit expensive. I've seen others that are about the same overall capability for quite a bit less than this unit is regularly advertised. It does work well and is a quality product, but this GEO reactor is pricey.

This reactor is a good size and would do well on my aquariums. The pump it comes with for circulation is great, all eheim products are near silent and dont draw a lot of energy. This one is no exception. This unit is pretty easy to setup and should be pretty much maintenance free for most of it's operation. I've gotten good results with it, the design allows for good flow and shouldnt give any issues. I like using a coarser media in it, though, as the fine media may clog up as it breaks down in time. This is a nice unit.

The only complaint for this reactor is the price. I've seen (and since bought) similarly capable units for around $300, so if you spend more than that on this reactor I'd say this isnt a very good deal. In terms of quality, this geo reactor is top notch, so I wouldnt worry about that, it's just a bit more than I would expect to spend on a reactor.

Great Reactor!
| Installation and Operation |
Installation was relatively simple and straight forward. So far it has been performing very well with no leaking or problems. My calcium and alkalinity levels are very consistent and stable, keeping my corals and clams happy.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
I've been very satisfied with this reactor thus far and can't complain about the performance.
|
| Value for money |
I bought this reactor used and only paid $200 for the reactor and a CO2 system so I definitely can't complain about price! However, if buying new I'd say it's still worth the price, but I'm sure other reactors at lower costs would perform similarly.

Worth every Penny
| Installation and Operation |
Geo was very easy to install, you just to follow the instructions from GEO step by step. it would take roughly 1 hour of reading and understanding how to connect it to your system. finally once you set it up, no need for further operating. and Easy to maintain.

I have never experienced another Calcium reactor, but im Glad that i started with GEO. The price is good for i would say the best calcium reactor. you may spend more on other brands that are less quality than GEO.
