Quality product, a good solution
| Installation and Operation |
A good media for a calcium reactor, however the smaller media is a bit more of a risk. It is more likely to deteriorate, making flow through the reactor more of a challenge and more likely to trap wastes. If your setup lends itself more to a small media, this is a great product, but in most cases I'd recommend the coarse media.

| Performance vs. Expectations |
Works well in terms of calcium and alkalinity supplementation, but is more likely to deteriorate into "mush" than other products (such as the Carib Sea coarse media) due to it's small size. Having used both, I prefer a larger media.

| Value for money |
A good value for the money, caribsea provides great products and I'd recommend them for any of the various substrate needs.

| Liked about it |
A clean product that doesnt need much (if any) rinsing, and a good composition for both alkalinity and calcium supplementation. And while a bit of a simple thing, their containers are very re-usable.

This particular item has small media, which I do not prefer for use in my media reactors, however I would use it if I couldnt get my hands on a larger media in short order.

a good media but keep an eye on it
| General |
I started out with this media and had my ph drop below 6.6 and the media melted and clogged my reactor quickly. Then after than I had the unit clog in about 4 months from debris build up.
Other than that this media was great and created a very consistant effluent. |
