Much better than the fine media

Installation and Operation There really is not installiation with reactor media just add it to your reactor and your are good to go!

Performance vs. Expectations This was the second media I tried. First was the ARM fine.
Compared to that it's great. Can be run at much lower PH without melt down. The also allows for much greater effluent recirculation resulting in higher efficiency.

Once I started running a reactor I did notice a spike in Phosphates. Common with all reactors. But there are some medias with less PO4 in the media such as ones that use only dead coral skeleton.

ARM seems to throw everyting they find into this media. Coral, Shells, etc.

Value for money All the media seems to be priced about this same. So value for money for these products is not a concern.

Customer Support Never needed any support for this product.
But I will say that I have called Carib-Sea on another issue regarding aragonite and they were extremely helpful.

Liked about it Does not clog
Does not melt as easily, I can run my PH lower

Didn't like Phosphates. You better get GFO.

great solution for calcium reactor media

Installation and Operation I prefer this product to the fine media, as it's less likely to deteriorate and allows better flow through the reactor. I'd highly recommend it. It has great composition for both alkalinity and calcium supplementation, and it works well in almost any reactor.

Performance vs. Expectations Very pleased with the performance, having come from the smaller media I wasnt sure this product would be a better solution. In my experience, it far outperforms the smaller product. The biggest issue I had with the smaller stuff was getting flow through the reactor and collecting wastes, and this larger media eliminates both those concerns.

Value for money Great value for the money; they're arent a lot of media options on the market, but this is almost a negligible cost for long-term supplementation.

Liked about it quality media with great composition, I really like the large size of the individual pieces. It breaks down consistently, and the containers it comes in are very reusable/

Didn't like Nothing in particular; as with all media, you have to be careful to ensure that it won't break down too quickly with greatly depleted pH (such as under 6.2), but that's not unique to this product. Highly recommended.

Good Media

General Overall I like this media and have been using it in my 180 gallon SPS tank for three years. I like it better than the finer (smaller grain size) version and have been able to maintain more stable calcium levels with it. I have not had any problems with reactor clogs either since switching to the larger grain size.

Liked about it Media size

Didn't like A little pricey

Good reactor media

General The proverbial "everyone's reactor media", ARM is the media I have found most in most of the reactors I have visited at homes. The size is great and through testing, I have not noted any release of detected, unwanted elements into the water column. I would highly recommend looking into buying this in bulk however. There are vendors who sell 25+ lb bags which might bring you some cost savings when setting up a larger reactor or a dual-chamber design.

Liked about it Larger size allows for better CO2 profusion
