Overall I like this media and have been using it in my 180 gallon SPS tank for three years. I like it better than the finer (smaller grain size) version and have been able to maintain more stable calcium levels with it. I have not had any problems with reactor clogs either since switching to the larger grain size. |

Much better thanthe fine media
| General |
I really like this media compared to the fine. I get better recirculation and not chamber clogging. I also get a very consistent effluent and can run my PH lower. My reactor may be a little small for by tank but being able to run lower PH increasing effluent Alk levels moves up for the smaller size reactor. |

great solution for calcium reactor media

I prefer this product to the fine media, as it's less likely to deteriorate and allows better flow through the reactor. I'd highly recommend it. |

Good reactor media
| General |
The proverbial "everyone's reactor media", ARM is the media I have found most in most of the reactors I have visited at homes. The size is great and through testing, I have not noted any release of detected, unwanted elements into the water column. I would highly recommend looking into buying this in bulk however. There are vendors who sell 25+ lb bags which might bring you some cost savings when setting up a larger reactor or a dual-chamber design. |
