Way more affordable than Oceanic's wooden diffusers

Installation and Operation These install like all other air stones, by simply slipping the end of the air hose onto the nib.

Performance vs. Expectations If you have an air-driven protein skimmer, like the small one that you can buy for the BioCube line you know they are powered by air stones. The quality of the air stone makes a huge difference in how well the skimmer works. Though I no longer use the skimmers, I owned two of the BioCube skimmers, one for my BioCube and the other in a 20 gallon tank I kept. They come with a lemon wood air stone that works really well. The bubble are very fine, but the replacement is very expensive, ridiculously so as a matter of fact. Lee's lime wood stones are half the price and I think they actually work better. They seem to produce better bubbles with less airflow through the stone. All I know is that my little skimmers produced more skimmate once I started using the Lee's.

Value for money As mentioned above, these are half as much as the same product of other brands they also seem to create finer bubbles.

Customer Support I had no need to contact customer support, this product is pretty basic.

Liked about it 1. Affordable
2. Very fine bubbles
3. Small enough to fit into the BioCube protein skimmer

Didn't like 1. The wood is soft and you can dent it or take off one of the square edges. This was rare and always my fault.

Wooden is the way to go!

Installation and Operation The wooden air stones are ten times better than those cylindric black or blue plastic air stones. Wooden air stones make an exceeding amount of fine air bubbles, which is what you want. They pick up more bad stuff in the tank than other airstones because of the fine bubbles. Once teh wood appears to become covered with algea or the bubbles are struggling to come out of the wood, you know it's time to replace them, that's usually about once a month.

Performance vs. Expectations Wooden air stones are the only thing I use for my internal protein skimmer, and work wonderfully.

Value for money These are very cheap and easy to replace monthly.

Liked about it These create fine bubbles and pick up a lot of waste out of the water.

Didn't like The only thing I didn't like about this product is Algea covers the block very easily and quickly, it's a bit unsightly.
