| Installation and Operation |
Installation is simple, just stick a hose on the fitting and plug it in. You can include an anti-siphon valve if you like but I found that on this unit there was zero air out put when it was on. At first I thought I might have had it on backward, even though the arrow was facing the right way, so I flopped it around, still no air. I finally just ran it without one.

| Performance vs. Expectations |
I used this pump on a very small 5.5 gallon freshwater tank with a bubble rod buried just below the gravel line. I was very disappointed in the amount of output, I really expected more. The bubbles at the far end of the rod were far fewer in number than those close to where the hose connected. It is recommended for a 5 gallon tank, so I guess they mean it, mine was a half gallon over that!
If you had a 2.5 gallon tank you might consider this, however, I wouldn't recommend it even for that. I felt the pump was too noisy. I ended up using a Tetra Whisper pump that lived up to its name.

I am sure the pump is as well made as all the rest of the stuff that Hagen puts out, they are a great company from my experience, but I think it comes down to this pump just being too small for most aquarists' needs.

I did not use customer support on this product. However, from previous experience with Hagen I am sure it would have been outstanding. I've only had good experience with the company itself.

Not enough bang for your buck
| General |
You will quickly find yourself upgrading from this pump. No matter how small of a tank or situation you need this for, I think you will be happier with a slightly larger unit. |

It's very small and compact and worked decently well at first.

After about 3-4 weeks of usage, it produced about 1/10th the amount of bubbles and eventually stopped working all together.
