Liked about it Doc Wellfish's aquarium salt worked very well for my 75 gallon African Cichlid tank (Malawi). Adding trace amounts of salt to a freshwater tank helps to promote healthy fish and this product did just that! I would use this product again. Report this review   Price: $2 to $4 Compare Prices at 16 stores Yes, freshwater needs salt General After about a year of running my first freshwater tank I came across this product. i know that there are other salts out there for fresh water but i started with this and didn't see any reason to change. by adding this to my water prior to water changes, i began to see improvements int he coloring of my fish. i don't believe it's a "color enhancer" rather it improved the overall health of the environment my fish were in and they showed how happy they were with the coloring they were showing. the product lasted me a long time before i had to re-stock. easy to use, if you're not adding salt to your freshwater (in the right amount) do it now!
